The Constitution: With or Without Christianity

Does the U.S. Constitution favor or oppose Christian beliefs? This question has been argued and debated upon since the conception of the Constitution. With this inquiry several follow-up questions have been utilized by those on each sides of the argument.

If one believes that the U.S. Constitution does favor Christian beliefs then here are some follow-up questions. What does the first amendment state? If it the first amendment states that there shall be no bias of religion, background, race, etc. then wouldn’t it contradict itself if it favored Christian ideals? If you believe this to be true then do you believe that the founding fathers (some of the most brilliant minds ever to walk the Earth) would be so hypocritical or unaware of what they conceived?

If one believes that the U.S. Constitution does not favor Christian ideals then these are some follow-up questions. Doesn’t the Constitution claim to be under God and in the year of our Lord? Don’t U.S. monetary notes have the statement under God? Doesn’t it seem odd that a country so bent on not propagating one religion over another would print these ideals on their money? Both of these sides have extensive support and it will an adventure to cover such an controversial subject.

Not going to lie, this is a big deal. It is such a touchy topic too. Good luck! I can't wait to see what else you have to say on it.
