Steroids

The claim made by Matson in the picture is drawn from the reader through witty humor. The emotion the cartoon creates is that of mostly grief that some of the world’s finest athletes have to use steroids to be able to compete well in their sports. The emotion works to persuade my person in two aspects: first, it causes grief that these athletes have no integrity or talent anymore (it is all illegally derived) and second, it begets anger for the same reasons. It also illustrates how the lobby reform does influence the athletes effectively.

it's also making fun of the Senate - they are as addicted to lobbyists' money just as some athletes are dependent on performance enhancing drugs
